अल्मोड़ा पुलिस टीम ने कार्रवाई करते हुए ग्राम मट्टी से अभियुक्त को गिरफ्तार कर नाबालिग बालिका को सकुशल बरामद किया। अभियुक्त ने इंस्टाग्राम के माध्यम से 3 साल तक बालिका से दोस्ती की और 28 जनवरी को उसे बहला-फुसलाकर रामनगर बुलाकर अपने साथ भगा लिया था।
