उत्तराखण्ड में स्थित ग्लेशियर झीलों के व्यापक अध्ययन और इनकी नियमित निगरानी के लिए उत्तराखण्ड राज्य आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण द्वारा विस्तृत कार्ययोजना बनाई जा रही है। इस संबंध में सचिव, आपदा प्रबंधन एवं पुनर्वास विनोद कुमार सुमन की अध्यक्षता में सचिवालय में विभिन्न केंद्रीय संस्थानों के वैज्ञानिकों के साथ विचार-विमर्श किया गया।
