जानकारी के अनुसार, उत्तराखंड सरकार ने साहसिक पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 83 प्रमुख पर्वत चोटियों को पर्वतारोहण के लिए खोल दिया है। बताया गया कि इस फैसले के तहत भारतीय पर्वतारोहियों से कोई शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा, जबकि विदेशी पर्वतारोहियों पर लगने वाला अतिरिक्त राज्य शुल्क भी खत्म कर दिया गया है।
