Base Salary

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Forestry / Botany / Zoology / Life Science / Environmental Science / Wildlife Science or similar discipline from a recognized university. Must have qualified NET or any other national-level examination conducted by Central Government Departments or their agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DRDO, NHRD, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Desirable Qualification Working experience in the respective domain.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

The Junior Research Fellow (JRF) will assist in the formation of site-specific plans for Assisted Natural Regeneration (ANR) and Eco-Restoration works at field level in Nanda Devi National Park Forest Division, Jyotirmath.

  1. Field visits of proposed ANR plots and data collection.
  2. Preparation of site-specific plans and maps.
  3. Conduct ecological and carbon stock surveys.
  4. Provide technical and scientific assistance to DFO, SDO, and field staff.
  5. Establish and monitor ANR sample plots and identify seed-bearing trees.
  6. Maintain ANR journals, survey data, budget records, and photographs.
  7. Monitor intervention works and submit reports to DFO.
  8. Train front-line staff and conduct workshops on ANR techniques.
  9. Analyze interventions and field results, suggest measures for improvement.
  10. Prepare annual monitoring reports and identify long-term indicators.
  11. Assist in other forestry or research work assigned by DFO, Nanda Devi NP.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Candidates must bring all original certificates and four recent passport-size photographs at the time of interview.
  2. Concealing facts or canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification or termination.
  3. Engagement may be terminated at any time without notice or assigning any reason.
  4. The post is purely temporary with no claim for permanent absorption.
  5. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
  6. Candidates cannot accept or hold any other assignment during engagement.
  7. Either party may terminate the engagement with one month’s notice.
  8. Absence without permission may result in non-payment for the respective period.
  9. A medical fitness certificate must be submitted at the time of joining.
  10. Employees must hand over charge and obtain a No-Objection Certificate upon leaving.
  11. Department reserves the right to cancel recruitment at any stage without notice.
  12. Leave: Casual leave only, as per State Government rules.
