Employment Type and Tenure

Essential Educational Qualification

As per Government of India Order No. F.No. 3-8/2023-RE dated 01 March 2024

  • For Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Post Graduate (PG) Degree in Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Wildlife, Soil Science, or Environmental Sciences with NET qualification or any other national-level examination recognized by central government agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DCS, DRDO, NHRD, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc.
  • For Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Same qualification as prescribed for JRF, along with two years of research experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct field surveys and species identification activities.
  2. Perform data collection, analysis, preparation of reports, and deliverables related to various flora and faunal species.
  3. Undertake additional duties assigned by the Working Plan Officer.

Desirable Knowledge and Work Experience

  • Good knowledge of computer applications including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience in forestry research, with ability to identify trees, shrubs, and herbs, and measure forest inventory parameters.
  • Knowledge of GIS, GPS devices, and Geospatial Technology handling.
  • Physically fit for extensive travel and trekking in mountainous and plain regions.
  • Research articles published in recognized scientific journals.
  • Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in Forestry, Wildlife, or Biodiversity-related surveys and research.
