The Sports Authority of India (SAI), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has released an official notification inviting online applications from eligible and qualified Indian citizens for the post of Junior Estimator & Quantity Surveyor on a contractual basis. Job Description and Responsibilities

The Junior Estimator & Quantity Surveyor will support estimation, measurement, and cost management functions within sports infrastructure projects. The role involves assessing and managing costs, quantities, and materials for various phases of the project to ensure accurate data for project delivery within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Extract quantities from design drawings (architectural, structural, MEP) and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Prepare cost estimates for construction works based on design documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Contribute to the development of project cost plans and budgets.
  • Assist in preparing tender documents and pricing schedules.
  • Support in evaluating contractor bids and assessing compliance with specifications.
  • Assist in preparing cost and financial progress reports for the project manager.
  • Support senior estimators in forecasting project costs at different stages of development.
  • Maintain detailed records of cost estimates, quantities, and project specifications.
  • Participate in site visits and surveys to collect data for accurate estimation and quantity assessment.
  • Provide on-site teams with advice and clarification regarding material quantities and costs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver projects efficiently.

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or a related field from a recognized university
  • OR Diploma in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution
Essential Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience after completion of a bachelor’s degree
  • OR Minimum 7 years’ experience after completion of a diploma
  • Experience must be in a relevant field within Government, Semi-Government, Autonomous bodies, or PSU organizations.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and relevant tools
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Prior experience in construction or infrastructure projects preferred

Remuneration / Salary

The consolidated monthly salary for the position of Junior Estimator & Quantity Surveyor will range between ₹50,000 to ₹70,000 per month. However, the initial remuneration fixed for the current recruitment shall be ₹50,000 per month.
