Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) function under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, and conduct nationwide examinations for various technical and non-technical posts across Indian Railways. This notification invites eligible Indian citizens to apply online for technical positions under CEN No. 05/2025.

Post Names & Nature of Work

• Junior Engineer (JE) – Technical supervisory role in engineering departments of Railways
• Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) – Supervisory role in material management and railway depots
• Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) – Lab & testing-based job in railway departments related to chemical/metallurgical analysis

Total Vacancies

Vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease based on administrative requirements of Indian Railways. RRB-wise and Railway-Zone-wise vacancy distribution is provided in Annexure-B in the official notification.

Salary & Job Type

• Pay Level: Level-6 as per 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC)
• Base Monthly Pay: ₹35,400 (excluding allowances)
• Type of Job: Central Government Permanent Position
• Training: Training is mandatory; only stipend paid during training

Educational Qualifications

Junior Engineer (JE)

• Three-year Diploma in Engineering OR Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech)
• Accepted branches depend on specific JE category (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Computer/IT, and allied engineering streams)

Depot Material Superintendent (DMS)

• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline from a recognized institution

Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)

• B.Sc. Degree with Chemistry & Physics as subjects

Age Criteria

Age Limit: 18 to 33 years

Age reference date: 01 January 2026

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) with negative marking (1/3 mark deduction)
2. Document Verification (DV)
3. Medical Fitness Test as per Railway Medical Standards
4. Mandatory Training (Stipend during training only)

• Only one application can be submitted per candidate
• Live photograph upload during application is mandatory
• Aadhaar/DigiLocker authentication recommended
• SC/ST candidates may avail free sleeper-class travel pass for exam (conditions apply)
