Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • M.D. in General Medicine recognized by the Medical Council of India with at least 5 years of experience after M.D.
  • OR M.B.B.S. with at least 7 years of experience after passing M.B.B.S. as a registered Medical Practitioner.
  • Preference will be given to doctors with qualification M.D. in General Medicine.
  • Doctors empanelled with PSU/Banks at present or previously will be given preference.

Working Hours & Contract Details

Working Hours & Days 08 hours per week (Visiting Days and Timings shall be fixed by the Bank as per convenience of staff.)
Period of Contract Initially for two years; extendable by two years each time based on satisfactory performance.
Termination Clause The contract is terminable with two months’ notice from either side.
Remuneration ₹1,000 per hour (all inclusive)

Selection Procedure

  • Applications received will be scrutinized by the Bank.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview via email.
  • Final selection will be based on the interview performance.
  • Engagement letter will be sent to the selected candidate by email.
  • If a selected candidate refuses or does not accept the offer within the stipulated timeline, the next candidate from the waiting list (based on interview marks) will be offered the engagement.

Job Role and Responsibilities

  1. Provide free medical advice and consultation to bank staff and their family members during prescribed hours.
  2. Scrutinize medical, hospitalization, and ex-gratia bills submitted by staff and certify correctness for reimbursement.
  3. Provide medical opinion or advice in special cases such as sanctioning of sick leave, extraordinary leave, or transfers on medical grounds.
  4. Conduct medical checkups of new recruits upon bank request.
  5. Provide information or assistance related to medical cases whenever required by the bank.
  6. Prescribe medicines and suggest treatment for staff or family members during medical emergencies from residence or clinic.
  7. Perform any other task or assistance required by the bank and its employees.

Other Terms and Conditions

  • Medical Consultant must arrange a suitable substitute at his/her own cost in case of continuous absence for more than two days.
  • Medical Consultant will not be eligible for any benefit as available to part-time or full-time employees such as leave, provident fund, gratuity, bonus, or reimbursement of medical expenses.
  • Engagement is purely contractual; no claim for regular employment or pay and perks payable to regular employees.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Bank’s affairs and those of its constituents. No disclosure of confidential information is permitted unless required by judicial or superior authority.
  • Serve the Bank honestly and courteously, promoting the interests of the Bank at all times.
  • Must not indulge in any act of sexual harassment or misconduct at the workplace.
  • The contract may be terminated if the consultant is arrested for debt, charged criminally, or detained in pursuance of law.
  • The Bank reserves the right to raise minimum eligibility standards or limit the number of candidates for interview. The Bank’s decision will be final.
  • The engagement under this contract is temporary and will not confer any right for regularization.
