General Information

Prasar Bharati invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for various posts on a full-time contractual basis at different Regional News Units (RNUs) under DG: DD News. All engagements are for two years, extendable depending on performance and organizational requirements.

Post-wise Details with Qualifications

1. Senior Correspondent (वरिष्ठ संवाददाता)

  • Vacancies: 2 (Ranchi – 1, Hyderabad – 1)
  • Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹80,000 per month
  • Qualification: Degree from recognized University/Institute with Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant field.
  • Age Limit: Below 45 years
  • Duties: Covering, planning, writing, editing, and producing complex news stories.

2. Anchor-cum-Correspondent Grade-II (एंकर सह संवाददाता ग्रेड-II)

  • Vacancies: 7 (Chennai – 2, Bengaluru – 2, Mumbai – 1, Hyderabad – 2)
  • Salary: ₹45,000 – ₹60,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass/Visual Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass/Visual Communication. Minimum 5 years’ experience. Desirable: Presentation skills, pronunciation clarity, current affairs knowledge, and digital experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years
  • Duties: Anchoring, reporting, script writing, and conducting interviews.

3. Anchor-cum-Correspondent Grade-III (एंकर सह संवाददाता ग्रेड-III)

  • Vacancies: 10 (Ranchi – 1, Chennai – 2, Bengaluru – 2, Mumbai – 2, Hyderabad – 2, Shimla – 1)
  • Salary: ₹35,000 – ₹40,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass/Visual Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass/Visual Communication. Minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 30 years
  • Duties: Reporting, scripting, and producing news stories for TV/digital platforms.

4. Bulletin Editor (बुलेटिन संपादक)

  • Vacancies: 4 (Ranchi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad)
  • Salary: ₹40,000 – ₹50,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 7 years’ experience (preferably as Reporter).
  • Age Limit: Below 45 years (up to 50 years for eligible casuals)
  • Duties: Editorial direction, news bulletin editing, coordinating visuals, and supervising scripts.

5. Broadcast Executive (प्रसारण कार्यपालक)

  • Vacancies: 4 (Ranchi – 1, Shimla – 3)
  • Salary: ₹30,000
  • Qualification: Degree in Radio/TV Production OR Professional Diploma in Radio/TV Production. Minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years (10 years relaxation for casual assignees)
  • Duties: Program production and live broadcast management.

6. Video Post Production Assistant (वीडियो पोस्ट प्रोडक्शन सहायक)

  • Vacancies: 2 (Chennai – 1, Hyderabad – 1)
  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000
  • Qualification: Professional Diploma in Film/Video Editing or equivalent. Minimum 2 years’ experience (Adobe Premiere/FCP preferred).
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years
  • Duties: Video editing, packaging, and post-production for telecast.

7. Assignment Coordinator (असाइनमेंट समन्वयक)

  • Vacancies: 3 (Chennai, Mumbai, Shimla)
  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years
  • Duties: Planning coverage, coordinating correspondents, and organizing live inputs.

8. Content Executive (सामग्री कार्यपालक)

  • Vacancies: 8 (Ranchi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Shimla)
  • Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 3 years’ experience in social media content writing.
  • Age Limit: Below 35 years
  • Duties: Research, write, and manage stories for social and web platforms.

9. Copy Editor (कॉपी संपादक)

  • Vacancies: 7 (Chennai – 2, Bengaluru – 2, Mumbai – 2, Hyderabad – 1)
  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹35,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 35 years
  • Duties: Writing and editing scripts, preparing news visuals and graphics, supervising bulletins.

10. Copy Writer (कॉपी राइटर)

  • Vacancies: 1 (Shimla)
  • Salary: ₹30,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years
  • Duties: Editing news items and writing news scripts/packages.

11. Packaging Assistant (पैकेजिंग सहायक)

  • Vacancies: 6 (Ranchi – 1, Chennai – 2, Bengaluru – 1, Mumbai – 1, Hyderabad – 1)
  • Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000
  • Qualification: Degree + PG Diploma in Journalism/Mass Communication OR Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication. Minimum 1 year’s experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 30 years
  • Duties: Assisting in news package production and editing.

12. Videographer (वीडियोग्राफर)

  • Vacancies: 5 (Mumbai – 1, Hyderabad – 2, Shimla – 2)
  • Salary: ₹30,000 – ₹40,000
  • Qualification: 10+2 and Degree/Diploma in Cinematography/Videography or equivalent. Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years
  • Duties: Operating cameras, capturing visuals and shots for studio and outdoor TV production.

General Terms & Conditions

  • All posts are purely contractual for 2 years, extendable based on performance.
  • Engagement may be terminated with one month’s notice or salary in lieu.
  • No claim for regular employment or permanent absorption.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview/test.
  • Prasar Bharati reserves the right to modify the number of posts or conduct tests/interviews as required.

Notification Date: 07 October 2025

Last Date to Apply: Within 15 days from publication on PB website (i.e. 21 October 2025). If uploaded a day later, the last date will shift to 22 October 2025.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting based on eligibility and relevant experience.
  • Skill test or interview may be conducted for final selection.
  • Final decision rests with DG: DD News, Prasar Bharati.
