Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Must have passed High School (10th) with minimum 50% marks and ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Qualification must be completed before 16.10.2025.
Physical Standard: Selected candidates must produce a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an authorized Medical Officer. Eligibility for PwBD candidates will follow Railway Board guidelines.
Not Eligible: Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders.

Age Limit

Minimum Age: 15 years
Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 16.10.2025)
Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwBD – 10 years

Reservation Details

EWS Reservation: 10% (Economically Weaker Sections)

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online only through the North Eastern Railway’s official website.
Online application opens on 16.10.2025 (10:00 AM) and closes on 15.11.2025 (5:00 PM).
Candidates must ensure eligibility before applying; no offline applications are accepted.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a Merit List prepared from the average of marks in Matriculation (with at least 50%) and ITI, giving equal weightage to both.
There will be no written test or interview.
Document Verification will be conducted at Gorakhpur; candidates must bring their original certificates, 4 passport-size photographs, and a medical certificate in the prescribed format.

Training & Stipend

The apprenticeship training will be conducted according to standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council, subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur.

The selected candidates will receive stipend as per Apprenticeship rules and extant Railway regulations.

Note: Completion of apprenticeship does not guarantee employment in the Railways.

No TA/DA, lodging or fooding expenses will be paid for Document Verification.
Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders are not eligible under this notification.
Apprenticeship is subject to registration with RDAT/Kanpur and execution of a formal apprenticeship contract under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
If a candidate discontinues training without valid reasons, they must refund stipend and training cost as determined by Railway Administration.
Any false declaration or non-compliance with Railway rules will result in cancellation of candidature.
