Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Mass Media, Public Relations, Public Administration, or Media Management.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Relations, Media, or related fields.
  • Experience in editing, social media, or academic publishing in peer-reviewed journals is required.

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in media management (online and print).
  • Public relations expertise.
  • Academic writing and publishing skills.
  • Social media management and content creation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital communication tools.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 25 years
  • Maximum Age: 45 years (as on 1st January of the year of advertisement)
  • Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates
  • Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC candidates

Reservation Details

  • Reservation benefits are applicable as per Government of India rules.
  • Age relaxation available for SC/ST and OBC categories.

Selection Process

  • Shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility criteria.
  • Skill Test.
  • Interview at NEC Secretariat.
  • No request for postponement of test/interview will be entertained.

Contract Duration

  • Initial engagement will be for 1 year.
  • Extension may be granted based on performance and requirement.
  • Maximum of four extensions allowed.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage NEC website-related activities.
  • Draft and edit NEC Newsletter, Journal, and Press Releases.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies.
  • Enhance the public image of NEC.

Other Terms and Conditions

  • The engagement is purely contractual and does not guarantee permanent employment.
  • The contract may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason.
  • Candidates must not take up any other assignment during the contract period.
  • TA/DA will be provided as per Government of India rules applicable to Group 'C' staff.
  • 8 days of casual leave is allowed.
  • Maternity benefits are applicable as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
  • Candidates must arrange their own accommodation.
  • Candidates must maintain their own health and life insurance.
  • Medical fitness certificate may be required.
  • Police verification is mandatory as per Government guidelines.
  • All intellectual property created during the contract will belong to NEC.
  • No compensation will be provided for injury, illness, or death during the contract period.
  • Candidates must comply with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013.
  • Final decision in all matters rests with the Secretary, NEC.
  • NEC reserves the right to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
