Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate must be a graduate with a Diploma/Degree in Library Science from a recognized University.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of Computer Applications in a Library.
  • Candidate must possess a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number for the State of Assam.

Selection Process

  • Stage I – Written Examination (120 marks):
    • General Knowledge – 40 marks
    • Library Science – 40 marks
    • General Aptitude – 20 marks
    • Assamese (Qualifying only) – 20 marks (must secure at least 8 marks to qualify)
  • Stage II – Interview/Viva Voce: 20 marks
  • Final Selection: Based on aggregate marks of Stage I and Stage II.
    • In case of tie, candidate with higher marks in the written exam will be preferred.
    • If still tied, older candidate (by age) will be preferred.
