About National e-Governance Division (NeGD)

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD plays a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in programme management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries and Departments at both Central and State levels.

NeGD spearheads innovative initiatives under the Digital India Programme focused on digital infrastructure, governance and services on demand, and digital empowerment of citizens. Major initiatives include DigiLocker, UMANG, OpenForge Platform, API Setu, National Academic Depository, and Learning Management System.

NeGD supports Central Ministries and State Government Departments on e-Governance projects, reviews State Action Plans, provides technology management support, formulates and implements emerging technologies such as AI, Blockchain, GIS, and facilitates digital diplomacy focusing on Indian startups and products.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT.

Experience Requirement

• 7–8 years of experience in software development and architecture design.
• Prior experience in IT domain within the sports sector (Government or Corporate environment) is desired.

Technical Skills Required

• Expertise in Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, or Python (FastAPI).
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch.
• Deep understanding of Microservices architecture and API Gateway design.
• Experience with Kafka or message broker systems for asynchronous communication.
• Containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, NIC Cloud).
• DevSecOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing.
• Authentication standards: SSO, OAuth2, JWT.
• Compliance standards: CERT-In, GIGW, WCAG 2.1.
• Leadership, mentoring, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Certifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Google Professional Cloud Architect

Domain Preference

• Experience in sports technology platforms.
• Experience with athlete/federation management systems.
• Experience in data-driven digital ecosystems.
