6.1-magnitude earthquake strikes Turkey’s Balikesir province
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey’s northwestern Balikesir province, causing 12 buildings to collapse. Several aftershocks were felt following the tremors, prompting people to rush out of their homes in panic. Reports suggest that the same region had also experienced a 7.8-magnitude earthquake in 2023.
