Lord Shiva incarnated here in the form of a tiger, hence the name Bagnath. In this temple, you will find the Trimukhi and Chaturmukhi idols of Maheshwar, Parvati, Mahishasura Mardini, Shivling, Ganesha, Vishnu, Surya Sapvamatrika and Shashwat-Avatar. This holy place is also famous as the Tapobhoomi of Markandeya Rishi.
