Project Details

The recruitment is being conducted for the research project titled: “Families and the Impact of Inter-Ethnic Conflict in Manipur.”

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Research Assistant

Master’s Degree in any Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks.
Ph.D. / M.Phil. / NET qualification preferred.
Minimum one year research experience.

Desirable Skills

Expertise in writing and editing.
Knowledge of SPSS.
Ability to proof-read research reports and manuscripts.

Eligibility for Field Investigator

Master’s Degree in any Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks.
Preference will be given to candidates familiar with fieldwork.
Candidates trained in Anthropology, Sociology, or allied disciplines will be preferred.

Desirable Skills

Experience in fieldwork-based data collection in Imphal and nearby areas.
Knowledge of local Manipuri and Kuki tribal language or dialect.

Work Profile

Responsibilities of Research Assistant

Oversee the work of appointed field investigators.
Maintain all administrative and financial records related to the project.
Conduct field visits to verify the collected data.
Finalize the research report.
Carry out other project-related assignments as directed by the Project Director.

Responsibilities of Field Investigator

Conduct literature review related to the research project.
Carry out comprehensive fieldwork to collect data.
Submit reports of field visits.
Perform project assignments as directed by the Research Assistant or Project Director.

All incumbents must be ready for extensive travelling for conducting fieldwork in all the IDP Camps located in Imphal East, Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Churachandpur districts of Manipur.

Leave, Notice Period and Service Conditions

Service Termination	In case of un-informed absenteeism of two or more days, indiscipline, lack of work output, or involvement in activities not in the interest of the project or institute.
