  • Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification: 10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • Must be able to drive heavy vehicles confidently.
  • Must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle Driving License (Learner’s License not acceptable).
  • Should have knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Application Process

  1. Application must be submitted in online mode only through SSC website or mySSC mobile app.
  2. One-Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory on the new SSC website (old OTR on ssc.nic.in will not work).
  3. Candidates are advised to submit applications well before the last date to avoid technical issues.
  4. Aadhaar-based authentication is advised.
  5. Candidates must upload a real-time photograph and signature as per instructions.

Selection Process

  1. Computer Based Examination (CBE): Objective type, 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. Subjects include General Awareness, General Intelligence, Numerical Ability, Road Sense, Vehicle Maintenance, Traffic Rules, and Environmental Pollution.
  2. Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT): Includes race, long jump, high jump, minimum height and chest requirements with relaxations for certain categories.
  3. Trade Test (Qualifying): Driving LMV/HMV, parking skills, traffic rules knowledge, vehicle maintenance knowledge.
  4. Medical Examination: Candidates must be medically fit, with vision 6/6 and 6/12 without glasses, free from color blindness.
  5. Document Verification: Verification of certificates including educational qualification, caste, driving license, and other applicable documents.

Other Important Information

  • The post of Constable (Driver) is not suitable for women candidates and PwBD.
  • Incentives for NCC Certificate Holders: NCC 'C' Certificate – 5% bonus marks, NCC 'B' Certificate – 3%, NCC 'A' Certificate – 2%.
  • Additional marks for Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) Degree/PG Diploma: Distinction – 5%, First Class – 4%, Second Class – 3%, Pass Class – 2%.
