Eligibility Criteria

• M.D. in General Medicine (recognized by the Medical Council of India) with at least 5 years post-M.D. experience.
• OR M.B.B.S. with at least 7 years of experience as a registered Medical Practitioner.
• Preference will be given to:
  • M.D. candidates in General Medicine.
  • Doctors previously or currently empanelled with PSU/Banks.

Selection Process

1. Applications will be scrutinized by the Bank.
2. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview via email.
3. Final selection will be based on performance in the interview.
4. Engagement letter will be sent to the selected candidate by email.
5. If a selected candidate refuses or does not accept in time, the next candidate in the waiting list will be offered the engagement.

Job Role & Responsibilities

• Provide free medical advice and consultation to bank staff and their family members.
• Scrutinize and certify correctness of medical/hospitalization/ex-gratia bills for reimbursement.
• Provide opinion/advice for sick or extraordinary leave, and transfer cases on medical grounds.
• Conduct medical checkup of new recruits on Bank’s request.
• Assist Bank in medical cases and related matters as required.
• Prescribe medicines and provide treatment during office hours, and assist in emergencies.
• Undertake any other task assigned by the Bank.

Other Important Conditions

• In case of continuous absence for more than 2 days, a suitable substitute must be arranged by the consultant at his/her own cost.
• No employee benefits (leave, PF, gratuity, LFC, bonus, medical reimbursement, newspaper, etc.) will be applicable.
• The engagement is temporary and does not guarantee regular employment.
• The Bank reserves the right to alter duty hours and location.
• Any dispute will fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Punjab.
• Strict confidentiality of Bank’s affairs must be maintained.
• Either side may terminate the engagement with 2 months’ notice.
• Consultant must serve the Bank faithfully, honestly, and courteously.
• Sexual harassment at the workplace is strictly prohibited.
• Engagement may be terminated if arrested for debt or criminal charges.
• The Bank reserves the right to raise eligibility standards and limit the number of interviewees. Decision of the Bank is final.
