Background and Objectives

The National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP), implemented under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), aims to achieve a Leprosy-Free India by 2027. The programme operates under the National Health Mission (NHM) and focuses on targeted interventions across States and Union Territories.

The Consultant (Programme Monitoring) will provide technical and programmatic support to strengthen monitoring and evaluation mechanisms within NLEP and ensure alignment with the National Strategic Plan & Roadmap 2023–2027.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in preparation of the Annual Plan for NLEP at the central level, including consolidation of activities, budget requirements, and timelines.
  2. Compile, analyse, and evaluate epidemiological data and related information from States and Union Territories for informed decision-making and programme planning.
  3. Identify patterns, trends, and gaps to improve NLEP interventions.
  4. Scrutinize Annual Plans (PIPs) received from States and Union Territories.
  5. Assist in all policy-level and VIP-related matters.
  6. Coordinate with States and Union Territories for submission of monthly progress updates and manage related correspondence.
  7. Assist in managing all activities related to the Technical Resource Group (TRG) for NLEP.
  8. Coordinate with the TRG to ensure effective technical guidance and support to States and Union Territories.
  9. Develop and prepare epidemiological maps representing States and Districts for better visualization and interpretation of programme data.

Eligibility Criteria

  • MBBS with Master of Public Health (MPH)
  • BDS with Master of Public Health (MPH)
  • MD in Community Medicine
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in programme monitoring and evaluation
  • At least 1 year of experience working with Government health programmes at National or State level
  • Experience in handling and analysing epidemiological data and health information systems
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Willingness to undertake field visits to States and Union Territories as required

Age Limit

Maximum age limit is 55 years as on the last date of receiving applications. Candidates must be in good health to undertake field visits.
