The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Traditional Knowledge Digital Library Unit (CSIR–TKDL Unit), a constituent of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, invites applications from eligible candidates for project-based positions. Eligibility Criteria

1. Project Associate–I (Material Science) – Code: TKM01

  • Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Materials Engineering / Materials Science & Engineering / Mineral Engineering / Chemical Engineering OR Master’s / Integrated Master’s Degree in Material Science / Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable for reserved/statutory category candidates as per CSIR/Government of India rules).

2. Project Associate–I (Sanskrit) – Code: TKM02

  • Qualification: Master’s / Integrated Master’s Degree in Sanskrit Language from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable for reserved/statutory category candidates as per CSIR/Government of India rules).

3. Project Associate–II (Agriculture) – Code: TKA01

  • Qualification: Master’s / Integrated Master’s Degree in Agriculture / Agronomy / Horticulture / Animal Science / any branch of Veterinary Sciences / Zoology from a recognized University or equivalent and two years of experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or S&T Organizations and scientific activities and services.
  • Age Limit: 35 years (relaxable as per rules).

Monthly Emoluments

  3. Incomplete applications or applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
  4. Applicants must upload scanned copies of the following original documents:

  7. Candidates must appear in person at CSIR–TKDL Unit, 14 Satsang Vihar Marg, Qutub Institutional Area, New Delhi – 110067, for the written test/interview on the specified date and time.
  8. The written test result will be declared on the same day, and shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in hybrid mode (offline/online) either on the same day or later as decided by the committee.
  9. Candidates must bring original certificates/testimonials, two self-attested photographs, and one set of self-attested copies of all relevant documents during the test/interview.
  10. Candidates currently employed must produce a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of joining.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for all positions is 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved or statutory categories as per CSIR / Government of India rules.

Reservation Details

Reservation for SC / ST / OBC / PwD / EWS categories is applicable in accordance with the CSIR / Government of India rules on the subject.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on a Written Test followed by an Interview.
  • Results of the written test will be announced on the same day.
  • Interviews of shortlisted candidates will be held in hybrid mode (offline / online) on the same or subsequent day as notified.
  • Final selection will depend on overall performance in both written test and interview.

  • Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee selection.

  • Candidature will be purely provisional and subject to verification of eligibility.
  • No TA / DA will be paid for attending the Written Test / Interview.
  • Tenure of engagement is co-terminus with the project and shall not exceed six years in total including previous CSIR postings.
  • Performance of Project Staff will be reviewed periodically; unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination.
  • Engagement is purely on a contract basis and confers no right for continuation, absorption, or regularization in CSIR.
  • The contract may be terminated by either side with one-month notice or one-month stipend in lieu thereof.
  • Project Staff are governed by CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024 and subsequent amendments.
  • HRA / House Rent Allowance is payable as per extant Government of India rules applicable to CSIR employees.
  • Project staff may be required to travel as per project needs.
  • Head, CSIR–TKDL Unit, reserves the right to increase / decrease positions or cancel the engagement process at any stage.
  • The decision of the Head, CSIR–TKDL Unit, shall be final and binding.
  • Canvassing in any form will render the candidate disqualified.

  • Reserved-category candidates must produce original category certificates issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format.
  • If mark sheets contain CGPA / SGPA / OGPA grades, the equivalent percentage must be provided as per the University’s approved formula along with proof of conversion.
