Minimum Educational Qualifications

  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Three Years full time Diploma in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/University/Institutions in relevant discipline.
  • Graduate (Non-Engineering Degree) Apprentices: Full Time Graduate degree (Non-Engineering) granted by a recognized University/Institutions in relevant discipline.

Other Eligibility Requirements

  1. Graduate/Technician candidates who have passed the qualifying exam in 2022/2023/2024/2025 are only eligible.
  2. Candidates who have registered themselves in the Apprenticeship Portal for Apprenticeship and who fulfil the eligibility criteria indicated above will be considered for appearing in the walk-in-interview.
  3. Candidates should not have undergone or presently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in CSIR or elsewhere.
  4. Candidates should not have experience of one year or more in any job.
  5. Sandwich diplomas, private diploma, part time/Distance/short term/certificate courses etc., are not acceptable.

Age Relaxation (As per Government of India guidelines)

  • SC/ST: 5 years upper age relaxation (subject to producing relevant certificate in prescribed GOI format signed by competent authority)
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years upper age relaxation (subject to producing relevant certificate in prescribed GOI format signed by competent authority)
  • PwD: Up to 10 years; up to 15 years for SC/ST; up to 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates
  • Ex-Servicemen: Upper age limit is relaxable as per extant rules as applicable from time to time

Reservation of Vacancies

  • Candidates claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/EWS shall produce certificate issued by appropriate authority in the format prescribed by Govt. of India.
  • Failing production of the relevant certificate in the prescribed format, candidates will be considered as General category candidates only (if otherwise eligible).

Documents Required at Walk-in Interview

Interested and eligible candidates may appear in the walk-in-interview with all originals and one set of photocopy of all relevant testimonials with self-attestation, along with the application.

  • All Certificates/Testimonials in respect of Qualifications, DoB, Identity proof, etc.
  • Caste/Category Certificate for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD/EWS candidates (as applicable) in the prescribed format issued by the Competent Authority as prescribed by the Government of India.
  • Candidates should ensure that they submit all documents mentioned. If any required document is not submitted at the time of walk-in-interview, candidature will not be considered.

Selection Process

  • Mode of selection: Walk-in Interview
  • If the number of candidates is more, the Selection Committee shall adopt its own criteria and shortlist candidates for walk-in interview in proportionate to available vacancies.
  • The decision of the Director, CSIR-NIO, Goa will be final and binding on all candidates on matters relating to eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications, mode of selection, cancellation of selection process (part/full), etc. No correspondence/interim queries will be entertained.

General Conditions, Notes & Disclaimers (As Notified)

  1. Date & Time of Walk-in Interview: Reporting time 09:00 AM. No candidate will be allowed to enter after 10:00 AM. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
  2. Candidates must submit duly filled-in application form (end of advertisement and also on www.nio.res.in) along with originals for verification and self-attested copies of certificates, mark sheets, proof of DoB (SSLC/HSC copy), Aadhaar Card, and a passport size photograph.
  3. Candidates should have a valid Aadhaar Number.
  4. Original documents including educational qualification, Birth/SSLC certificate, community and other certificates of selected candidates will be verified at the time of walk-in interview. Joining is subject to verification of certificates.
  5. If the number of candidates is more, the Selection Committee may adopt criteria and shortlist candidates in proportion to available vacancies.
  6. Hostel Accommodation: Will not be provided. Selected candidates must make their own stay arrangements.
  7. Successful apprenticeship trainees will be awarded National Apprenticeship Certificate by NCVT/BOAT.
  8. Any corrigendum/addendum/updates regarding this advertisement will be available on https://www.nio.res.in/ only.
  9. Candidates are advised to periodically visit the website as all future correspondence and latest information regarding final screening/selection result will be posted on https://www.nio.res.in.
  10. Candidature is provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates/testimonials. If at any stage a candidate is found not fulfilling eligibility norms and/or has furnished incorrect/false information or suppressed material facts, candidature will stand cancelled; if detected after engagement, engagement is liable to be terminated.
  11. Filling up of seats is solely at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-NIO, Goa based on suitability; no claim will arise if some seats are not filled due to unsuitability/insufficient candidates.
  12. Upon completion of apprenticeship period, CSIR-NIO has NO obligation to offer employment; apprentices cannot claim a right to employment based on completion of apprenticeship.
