भारतीय सेना की 432 इंडिपेंडेंट इंजीनियर स्कॉर्डन में सेवारत पिथौरागढ़ के सैनिक पंकज कन्याल का टावर से गिरने के कारण निधन हो गया था। चार दिन बाद उनका पार्थिव शरीर घर लाया गया। मुवानी स्थित रामगंगा घाट पर जवान का सैन्य सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। उनके बड़े भाई मोहित कन्याल और चचेरे भाई पूरन कन्याल ने चिता को मुखाग्नि दी।

Pankaj Kanyal, a soldier from Pithoragarh serving in the 432 Independent Engineer Squadron of the Indian Army, died after falling from the tower. His mortal remains were brought home four days later. The soldier was cremated with military honors at Ramganga Ghat in Muwani. His elder brother Mohit Kanyal and cousin Puran Kanyal lit the funeral pyre.
