The youth who was trying to jump into the Saryu river at Saryu Bagad in Bageshwar was saved from jumping by prompt action of Home Guard Naveen Kumar posted in the Water Police. The Kotwali Police called the family members of the said youth and got them counselled. After counselling, he was handed over to his family members safely.
