The construction of Helang-Marwari bypass adjacent to Joshimath town, which is facing the brunt of landslide disaster in Chamoli, has started again after about five months. After the Joshimath disaster, in January this year, on the demand of the local people, the district administration had banned the construction work till advance orders. The state government has now approved the construction of the bypass road after receiving a positive report from IIT Roorkee.
