In Chamoli district, needy and orphan children are being benefited by linking them to the sponsorship scheme under the Mission Vatsalya Yojana. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari on Saturday approved linking 13 more children to the sponsorship scheme. These children are being provided financial assistance of Rs. 4,000 each every month.

A meeting of the management committee of Uttarakhand Sainik Rehabilitation Institute was held at Raj Bhawan under the chairmanship of Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (retd). In the meeting, the Governor laid special emphasis on promoting skill development and economic empowerment of Veer Naris and ex-servicemen.

A girl who was trying to commit suicide by jumping into Bhimtal lake in Nainital was rescued safely from the lake with the help of a rope by SHO Vimal Kumar Mishra, SI Gagandeep Singh and Constable Manoj Pant during checking. The girl was also counselled and handed over to her family.
