Chamoli- District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari held a meeting of the Road Safety Committee in the Collectorate Auditorium on Monday. He directed that works related to road safety should be completed on priority to prevent road accidents and ensure safe traffic.

Chamoli- On Monday, the first randomization of counting personnel was done in the district office under the chairmanship of DM/District Election Officer Sandeep Tiwari. Counting of votes for the civic body elections in the district will be held on January 25 at the Government Girls Inter College Gopeshwar.

Yesterday, Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh and First Lady Mrs. Gurmeet Kaur celebrated the festival of Lohri at Raj Bhawan with great joy and traditional gaiety. The Bhatraujkhan Police Station Team of Almora Police has arrested two smugglers with 10 kg of marijuana from Moradabad and Sonipat who were smuggling marijuana on a scooty. The cost of the recovered marijuana is more than two and a half lakhs.
